Toyo has extended its support of Australia's flourishing off-road racing scene by sponsoring a key round of the Australian Off Road Championship (AORC).

The small town of Waikerie in South Australia will host the third round of the AORC, the Toyo Tires Riverland Enduro, in early July.

James Lochert, president of the Waikerie Riverland Off Road Association, welcomed Toyo's decision to take a step beyond support of its race teams.

"Toyo is a growing brand in the SUV and off-road scene, and its tyres are on the trucks and buggies of some of the most successful competitors in the sport," he said.

"We're glad to be associated with Toyo, whom we consider to be a progressive company at the forefront of off-road tyre technology."

Toyo Australia's marketing manager José Angeles said that Toyo's support for the Riverland Enduro was fitting given the origin of its involvement with off-road racing.

"South Australia is home ground for our off-road racing program, so the Toyo Tires Riverland Enduro is a natural extension of that," he said.

"This is the first time in years that the Riverland Enduro will be a part of the AORC, which makes it a perfect time to place Toyo in front of a growing audience who are mad about off-road racing."

The partnership with the Toyo Tires Riverland Enduro will also give Toyo a chance to gain valuable insights on the performance of its Open Country SUV tyres.

"The Riverland Enduro's mix of limestone, sand and outback grit is renowned among competitors for its harshness on tyres and this makes it an ideal proving ground for our tyres," Mr Angeles said.

"The partnership gives us access to a number of highly trained instructors of the South Australian 4WD Driver Training Unit, who will put our tyres through their paces on and off the road."

To be held on a privately owned farm just outside Waikerie, the 2014 Toyo Tires Riverland Enduro will run from July 4 to 6.

Team Toyo drivers Andrew and Matthew Kittle, Brad Gallard and Billy Geddes will all be competing for outright honours.

Race updates will be available through the social media channels of Toyo Australia and the AORC.
