Toyo Tires have renewed their partnership with the Sydney Sixers and this season, they will be supporting local cricket clubs and associations with financial grants and player clinics to inspire youngsters to play and love the game.
As part of a new three-year partnership as the Sixers’ major partner and official tyre, Toyo Tires have launched the ‘Toyo Tires Sixers Community Grants’ program to benefit cricket clubs across the Sixers’ regions.
Toyo Tires and the Sixers have committed to providing grassroots cricket clubs and associations with access to financial grants of up to $1,000 as one-time cash injections, aimed at promoting the growth and development of the game while giving the next generation of Australian cricketers a helping hand.
Grant recipients can use this valuable funding to purchase things like portable shades and marquees, protective equipment and playing shirts, or improve programs that encourage participation, diversity, and inclusion.
Toyo Tires’ Strategy and Marketing Manager, Jose Angeles, said Toyo Tires was thrilled to extend their support of Australian cricket to the grassroots level.
“We recognise the important role that sport plays in the lives of everyday Aussies and have been developing our ‘In Support of Sport’ program for a number of years now to help athletes and fans make their move,” Angeles said.
“Sport is especially important in training children in the skills they need to become the leaders of tomorrow, so we’re really excited to be partnering with the Sydney Sixers for this community initiative and are hopeful that the money we are putting forward will support some of the clubs that have been doing it tough lately.”
Alongside the ‘Toyo Tires Sixers Community Grants’ program, Toyo’s support will also extend to a series of fun, 90-minute, cricket-themed activities that connect the club’s WBBL and BBL stars with kids from 5 to 13 years of age, dubbed ‘Toyo Tires Sixers Super Clinics’.
Sydney Sixers’ partnerships manager, Andrew Kelly, said the opportunities provided by Toyo’s generosity had never been more important.
“Both Sydney Sixers and Toyo Tires recognise what a difficult period our communities have been through over the last 18 months, from drought and bushfires to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” Kelly said.
“As a long-standing partner of the Sixers, Toyo Tires have again shown they are committed to growing the game by giving cricket clubs across NSW the chance to receive up to $1,000 in a grant or participate in a Super Clinic.
“These initiatives will hopefully provide local clubs with much-needed assistance to help inspire the next generation and foster home-grown talent.
“We hope clubs make their move and take control with Toyo today.”
