Long time Toyo Tires customer and advocate Ben Sigle’s infamous ‘48ONGATE’ Landcruiser has recently undergone an extensive rebuild, further cementing the popular ‘Cruiser as one of the country’s wildest custom four wheel drives.
Previously featured in 4x4 Australia, the 800hp turbocharged Landcruiser - famous for its exploits amongst some of W.A’s most iconic 4x4 tracks and off-road locations - was finished just in time for the Christmas touring season.
Not the only heavy-hitter in the fleet, the ‘Cruiser shares the shed with a wild Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner that keen eyes might recognise from the Toyo Tires stand at the Perth 4x4 and Adventure Show in late 2023. The Taco’ was chosen by Sam Eyles to take home the First Place - Modified trophy. Not a bad weekend!
Some of the recent modifications include reimagining the front and rear bar work on the mighty Toyota. An angular front bar with full hoops replaces the previous nudge bar arrangement, while new rock sliders could easily be mistaken for stylised side steps. A beefier spare wheel carrier hangs off the entirely new rear bar, with all the metal and bar work being carried out by Kingz Customs.
Importantly, Ben chose a set of Open Country R/T tyres to complete the brand-new build. He’s now been on the pattern for several years and remarks that our iconic hybrid 4x4 tyre perfectly suits his driving style and his build.
In 2024, Ben is vowing to double down on his content creation, and he’s looking forward to touring the country with the Landcruiser, including some time on the east coast exploring some tracks on a different side of the country, with some of the industry’s best known content creators.
