Camper trailer tip

If you’re an avid four wheel driver there’s a pretty good chance you’ve invested in a camper trailer, or you are about to.

A couple of helpful things when building your camper; to ensure that the track width (the space between the wheels) is close to that of your 4WD, that way the trailer won’t be blazing its own trail and costing you vital momentum.

Having a hub assembly with the same stud pattern and wheel offset is handy too for sharing wheel assemblies between tow vehicle and that being towed.

Of course if you’re running Toyo’s Open Country A/TII range you probably won’t need that extra, extra spare, because punctures will be a thing of the past! When you hit the gravel, the sand or the mud, let air out of them too, the camper’s tyre pressures should reflect that of the 4WD’s to spread that load more effectively and float over the top rather than bogging down.
